Elizabeth
Lawrence, Esq.
Elizabeth Lawrence
graduated Cum Laude from the University of Arizona obtaining
a bachelor of arts in Political Science with a minor in
Sociology. Following graduation,
Ms. Lawrence attended Loyola Law School and was
admitted to practice law in the state of California in 2001.
Since being admitted to practice law,
Ms. Lawrence has dedicated her practice
exclusively to family law.
Ms. Lawrence has the
unique experience of having served as an attorney and
Ombudsman for Tulare County Department of Child Support
Services. As such she handled hundreds of problem-child
support cases and was able to bring many of them to
resolution without litigation.
Ms. Lawrence has also
served as an advocate for victims of domestic violence and
has successfully litigated complex child custody/visitation
issues.
Ms. Lawrence likewise
provides representation in divorce actions. She has learned
through experience that most clients are best served in
their divorce when they have the opportunity to maintain a
high level of control over the distribution of their
property and the custody of their children. As a result,
Ms. Lawrence works
closely with her clients to strengthen their position in
negotiations early in the process to avoid unnecessary
expenses and costly litigation further down the road.
Although prepared to litigate all matters when necessary,
Ms. Lawrence strongly
believes that most matters fail to reach resolution only due
to the inability to effectively communicate. Potential
clients owe it to themselves to make sure their counsel is
an experienced negotiator with a sensitivity to each
family's unique concern.
Ms. Lawrence is a
certified mediator who strongly developed her negotiating
skills while interning with the Loyola Center for Conflict
Resolution and by serving the needs of a special
population as the administrator of a board and care
facility.
